Youth is wasted on the young (and so is quality house music)

Take some world class DJs, add in  a few non-stop belters, sprinkle liberally with drink, the dollies and other substances, then put on cam for 77 minutes and what do you get ....... blokes standing around, doing at most a wee half-arsed northern soul side-to-sidey in the background ... against  a wall ... clutching a can. Anything, but respecting the mix. Criminal, utterly criminal (but fair play to finger point in the air guy - classic move)

No it wisnae

Ed Miliband said - "This has clearly been a very disappointing and difficult night for the Labour Party, we haven't made the gains we wanted in England and Wales and in Scotland, we have seen a surge of nationalism overwhelm our party."

My arse a surge of nationalism. What I heard was a howling scream of dissatisfaction with a self-serving and incompetent Westminster status quo.

At the car wash

Getting your car washed provides one of the more powerful insights into the actual state of the current UK economy.Before the crash, the car wash machine (or a hosepipe) was king. Now? Migrants or latterly British people armed with chammies rule the roost, offering minimum wage (if that) personal valeting services.

So yes, the UK has low unemployment, but not in a healthy way. Despite borrowing costs being held at historic lows, businesses are continuing to choose cheap, "flexible" labour over capital investment, with productivity down the toilet as a result. Its just one of the realities I think contributed to Scotland's electoral rejection of a broken, self-serving and incompetent status quo.
